Experience Architecture 2025

SEPTEMBER THROUGH MID-NOVEMBER

Architecture is about more than buildings—it’s about connections.

This fall, join AIA Central Valley for Experience Architecture 2025, a multi-week celebration of design, place, and community in our 17-county region. Running from early September through mid-November, this year’s series explores the theme of Connections—how architecture links people to purpose, past to future, and neighborhoods to opportunity.

Our 2025 lineup includes a dynamic mix of tours, talks, and hands-on experiences designed to engage both the public and the design community. Highlights include the Design Awards Gala (Sept. 4), a Historic Bar Crawl (Oct. 11), and the always-popular Tour d’ Architecture Bike Ride (Oct. 25). You'll also have the chance to explore meaningful projects and issues—from adaptive reuse at the Gregory Bateson Building (Sept. 10), to equity-focused events like Respectful Interactions (Sept. 9) and Rethinking Shelter (Oct. 7).

New this year are exciting experiences like the Emerging Professionals River Cruise (Oct. 24), a LGBTQ+ Mid-Town Historic Walking Tour (Nov. 14), and two back-to-back events that explore the intersection of the built environment and nature—Building at the Edge: Codes and Best Practices for Wildfire-Prone Areas (Sept. 19) and Faulkner Architects: Lecture + Home Tour (Sept. 20). With studio tours, lectures, art exhibits, building walk-throughs, and even a pub stop or two, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and learn from.

Whether you're curious about the spaces around you or deeply involved in shaping them, Experience Architecture 2025 invites you to connect—with ideas, with each other, and with the future of our built environment.
