Upcoming “Build It Green” Events

Build It Green is coming to Sacramento, hosted by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, in August.
This is a great opportunity to attend their Certified Green Building Professional and Green Home Retrofitting & Remodeling trainings to establish yourself in this profitable niche and distinguish yourself in the marketplace.

Certified Green Building Professional

Day/Time: Tuesday – Wednesday, August 3-4, 2010 8:00AM – 5:00PM

Location: Sacramento Municipal Utility District – Energy & Technology Center, 6301 “S” Street, Sacramento, CA 95817

This is a two-day, 16-hour course based on the overarching principles of green building and the systems approach to the design, construction and operation of residential buildings. Topics include energy & resource conservation, indoor air quality, and developing & marketing a green business.

Participants will achieve a 2-year CGBP certification upon completion of the course and passing of the exam. Once certified, CGBP’s have the opportunity to market themselves in Build It Green’s online Green Professionals Directory.

Green Home Retrofitting & Remodeling

Day/Time: Thursday – Friday, August 5-6, 2010 8:00AM – 5:00PM

Location: Sacramento Municipal Utility District – Energy & Technology Center, 6301 “S” Street, Sacramento, CA 95817

Recent ARRA funding is being channeled to fund retrofit rebates for thousands and thousands of homes throughout the Northern California region over the next two years.

This two-day, interactive course is designed to provide all types of construction professionals with a comprehensive, step-by-step process to complete a green home assessment. Participants work as a team to interview a customer and prepare a proposal to upgrade and remodel an existing or new home in all aspects of green building. Attendees will receive tools to use after the course with their customers.

This training expands on the introductory Certified Green Building Professional (CGBP) training and meets your recertification requirements for both CGBP and GreenPoint Rated certifications.
