The Sacramento Area Sanitation District (SASD) was designed by Williams + Paddon Architects + Planners…the project consists of a two-story, 135,000 SF Office Building; a 40,000 square foot Warehouse, Shop, Central Plant Building and Corporation Yard situated on approximately 23 acres. Features include administrative offices, employee cafe, employee break out areas, employee exercise room, training rooms, community meeting rooms, vehicle repair areas, workshops, storage areas, loading dock, vehicle wash bays, back-up generator, and covered storage areas. The new facility will house several different agencies with unique needs and requirements. Williams + Paddon provided extensive programming and planning and design services through several different reorganizations of who would be based in the new offices. The projects is designed for a LEED Gold rating and includes several key energy efficient measures, including under floor air distribution, high efficiency HVAC equipment, daylighting and photovoltaic arrays.

This tour is filling fast and will be a highpoint in the Chapter building tours for the year. Don’t dealy or you could get left out.
These always fill to maximum
These tours are always so much fun and this was no exception. Great mix of people, good food and a great presentation.
The project landscape/hardscape was particularly good; I really loved the “wave” turf area. The building had a really simple structural system with a lot of it exposed but that required a high level of detailing which W+P really nailed. I especially like the simplicity of the white ceiling/roof deck and how it linked the whole building together. The coordination with the electrical mechanical and plumbing was really amazing. All exposed and it looked like art. Great project – It looked like a highly tuned design response on a very reasonable budget
