Join us Thursday evening, September 23rd for a special “Green Business” Presentation with the ReUse People of America (TRP) & our annual 2010 New Member Reception.

The Sacramento Regional Conservation Corps (SRCC) has launched a new “Green Business” in Sacramento in partnership with The ReUse People of America (TRP), headquartered in Oakland, California. This new business, the SRCC Re-Use Store, is designed to be a training program for corps members in sales, marketing, customer relations, inventory management, warehousing and delivery—while providing a service to the community and reducing the impact of discarded building materials in our landfills. Both the SRCC and TRP are recognized non profit organizations.

SRCC Executive Director Dwight Washabaugh and ReUse People of American Sacramento Area Manager Kristin Williams will present.

Prior to the presentation, enjoy refreshments and help us welcome our Chapter’s newest members as we introduce and welcome them to the Chapter.

About TRP

The ReUse People of America is a non-profit organization that promotes the deconstruction (careful dismantling) and reuse of a building that would normally be demolished. The vehicle that makes this economically feasible is the sizable tax deduction for the donation of the building materials salvaged. The materials are distributed for reuse through ours and partner warehouses throughout the country and abroad. Click here to learn more.

Date/Time: Thursday, September 23, 5:30 registration & refreshments; 6:00 welcome & presentation

The new health care law will change the way many AIA members, from sole proprietors to large firm principals, receive medical care. What does this new law mean for you, your family, and your firm? Will you have to change the insurance you already have? Will your premiums go up or down? Will your firm be penalized if it doesn’t follow the rules? What is a “Cadillac” healthcare plan?

With the ink still barely dry on this legislation, hear from those at the center of the debate as they separate fact from fiction about what the legislation means to AIA members.

“Big Changes. Big Choices. What Does Health Care Reform Mean For AIA Members?”, a free one-hour webinar exclusively for AIA members, brings together experts who helped shape the landmark bill to share what the changes mean to you and how you can prepare for them. Ask the questions you haven’t seen answered anywhere else. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn the facts that every architect needs to know!
